Rekindle that old-fashioned Holiday spirit in Wellsboro at the Dickens
of a Christmas Celebration. You will arrive in Wellsboro for a
delightful lunch included at the Penn Wells Restaurant. Please choose
from one of the following entrees: Baked Ziti with Garlic Bread or
Turkey Pot Pie with Vegetables in a Cream Sauce over Biscuits. If you
have not already made your choice, please contact the Tour Department
at least one month prior to trip departure to make your selection.
Built in 1869, the Penn Wells is one of the most recognizable
landmarks in Wellsboro. Following lunch, you will have time on your
own to enjoy the annual Dickens Festival which features outdoor craft
and food vendors, plus a variety of special displays and events at
local downtown sites. The buildings will be decorated to create a
Victorian atmosphere that fits so well with its famous gas lights.
(NOTE: Please remember to dress appropriately for the weather. The
majority of the festival is outdoors, and the bus does not park
onsite.) Please have dinner on your own while at the festival. You
will depart Wellsboro at approximately 3:30 p.m. for home with a
restroom stop along the way.
**NOTE: PLEASE REMEMBER TO DRESS APPROPRIATELY FOR THE WEATHER. THE
MAJORITY OF THE FESTIVAL IS OUTDOORS, AND THE BUS DOES NOT PARK
