Join us for a special evening concert featuring the legendary Tony Joe
White and opening act Phoenix Drive who will perform to benefit Saddle
Up! Tony Joe White - best known for writing “Polk Salad Annie” and
“Rainy Night in Georgia” - in a one-night-only performance at the
historic Franklin Theatre. His touring credits include Creedence
Clearwater Revival, Eric Clapton and James Taylor. His songs have been
recorded by Elvis, Ray Charles, Tina Turner, Kenny Chesney, Etta
James, Dusty Springfield and Bruce Springfield to name a few. Revered
as one of the originators of swamp rock, Tony Joe has recorded 30
records and topped the United Kingdom country charts with his 2013
studio album, “Hoodoo.” Phoenix Drive is a modern country/rock
band featuring founding members, Jon Scott and Brian Powers, co-lead
singer Charissa Nicole, lead guitarist Jason Roller and drummer David
Rollins. With a sound that has often been compared to the earlier
music of Fleetwood Mac, Keith Urban and The Civil Wars, they’re
gaining fans fast with their dynamic live show, solid musicianship,
powerful duo lead vocalists, and intricate three-part harmonies. Their
original songs and modern infusion of country, rock, folk and soul
caught the attention of hit producer and songwriter Joe West who
recorded their first full-length album, “A Fool’s Melody”, which
is receiving accolades from industry professionals and fans. Our
thanks to Jackson National Life Insurance Company for generously
underwriting this event.
