Art Journaling Club - FRC - April 2 - Franklin, TN 2026

Description Franklin Rec CenterThursday, April 2nd5:00 - 7:00 PM Step into a supportive, creative space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions through art journaling. This class is designed to help you gently move past the resistance of the blank page with simple techniques, playful prompts, and a relaxed atmosphere that encourages curiosity rather than perfection. Whether you’re seeking self-expression, stress relief, or a new way to connect with yourself, you’ll find room here to create freely and confidently. This is a welcoming environment for all skill levels. We all have something to learn from each other! This class will include: * Brief intro to what art journaling is and different styles (collage, mixed media, prompts). * Guided warm-up exercises to loosen creativity. * Themed prompts to inspire pages. * Demonstrations of simple techniques (layering, lettering, texture). * Opportunities for personal reflection and writing * Or just use this as "open studio time" to explore freely! * Individualized support for beginners. * Optional sharing circle for participants to show pages and discuss their process. * Take-home ideas and prompts to continue journaling between classes. A SUPPLY FEE OF $5 WILL BE DUE TO THE INSTRUCTOR AT THE BEGINNING OF THE CLASS. MAGAZINES, PAPER, STICKERS, LETTERS, QUOTES, SCISSORS, GLUE OR GLUE TAPE, AND PENS WILL BE PROVIDED, BUT STUDENTS SHOULD BRING THEIR OWN ART JOURNAL (CAN BE EMPTY OR A WORK IN PROGRESS) AND ANY OTHER SUPPLIES THEY WOULD LIKE SUCH AS PHOTOS!
