The eighth annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Breakfast
will be Monday, January 20th. Join the City of Martin, the University
of Tennessee at Martin, and the UTM Black Student Association for a
morning of good food, music, and fellowship. This event brings
together community and university to celebrate and honor Dr. Martin
Luther King Jr. and raise awareness to live with purpose. During the
program attendees will hear from our keynote speaker Dr. Mark
McCloud, UT MARTIN CAREER PLANNING & Development, hear performances
from the UT MARTIN MUSIC DEPARTMENT, and honor three different award
recepiants including The Alpha Award, The Torch Award, and The Harold
Connor Award. The program should last until around 10:30
am. Location/Parking: Boling University Center, Duncan Ballroom
Time: Breakfast 8:45 am, Program 9:00am
Tickets: Pre registration is REQUIRED. This event is free but all
attendees must register for a ticket to attend the event. Registration
is limited to the first 300 people. Please follow these steps to
register.
1.Register for the number of tickets you need for your attending party
2.Print off your ticket or bring a copy of your ticket on your smart
phone
3. Present either type of ticket at the check in table in the lobby
upon arrival
Weather Cancellation: In the event of inclement weather including
heavy snow or ice the event will be canceled. Information regarding a
cancellation will be posted on the City of Martin website and social
media accounts.
