Join us at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN for one day of empowering talks, insightful breakout sessions and unexpected connections that will supercharge a collective effort to break down barriers for student voting in Tennessee.
Administrators, faculty, students and community partners will convene for a one day regional summit which examines how Tennessee’s institutions of higher education make civic learning and civic engagement central, not peripheral, on their campuses. Incorporating democratic engagement plans into campus life creates structures and stability for students as they explore their political beliefs and their responsibilities in our participatory democracy. Increasing student civic learning and voting embeds habits of citizenship that last far beyond the collegiate experience. Tennessee Campus Civic Summit 2020 will address the goals and the strategies needed to reach 100% campus civic participation. The Summit provides workshops and learning sessions with leading students, faculty and legislators. The Summit hosts panels of local and national experts in student voting, campus organizing, and civic education.
