A partnership that will make both beer lovers and passionate runners
weep tears of joy, City Running Tours Austin and the Hops and Grain
Brewery have collaborated in creating the Hops and Grain Brewery 5k!
Beer and running coalesce seamlessly into an entertaining 3.1 mile
running tour that ends appropriately at the local brewery where each
registrant gets a beer on the house. Originally called Pecan Street,
Austin's city architect, Edwin Waller, planned for 6th St. to be the
East/West Axis of the city with Congress Ave as the North/South,
making the intersection of Congress and Pecan(6th) the epicenter of
all social and commercial activity. Waller's planning still holds true
today and while Congress Ave features a bustling variety of commercial
space, banks, high-end retail stores, etc... 6th St has embraced a
reputation similar to Bourbon St. in New Orleans, as a vice-filled
line of bars, clubs and occasional restaurant that lures locals and
tourists alike in for a wild night of drinking, debauchery, and live
music. Our beer route explores the street's rich history as well as
its current live music scene, haunted hotspots, and world-famous
watering holes that will all culminate at the Hops and Grain Brewery
for unlimited beer drinking and an additional tour of the brewery
itself.Event details and scheduleThe tour will begin at 12PM CST. A
confirmation email will be sent out in the days leading up to the
tour. The tour will be run at a casual pace and our guides will be
snapping photos throughout the tour, so you don't have too!

FAQ - 1) Is tipping allowed? Yes. While tipping is in no way
required - your smiles are their own reward - your guides certainly
welcome it if you wish to show your appreciation through a tip.
2) Will you cancel in the case of bad weather? The weather would
have to be really, really bad for us to cancel a tour. We run in all
weather, and we love it. We might cancel if the ground were going to
be so icy as to be dangerous. In that event, we notify runners ahead
of time and reschedule them for a future date. 3) Is there a place
to leave my things? No, our tours do not have coat checks. Your
guides can carry small items for you if need be. 4) What happens
if I am late? If you are the only person booked for the tour, your
guide will wait 10 minutes past the scheduled start time if they've
not heard from you. They will make reasonable accommodations if you
call to tell them you're on your way. If others are also booked for
the tour, we will start at the scheduled time if we have not heard
from you. If you call your guide, they will delay the start no longer
than 10 minutes, out of courtesy to the other participants. We strive
to make sure that everyone has the best possible experience with us.
Cheers! Thanks for choosing City Running Tours! Have a great
run!
