ex ovo is pleased to present Michael Uttaro: En Route, the New
York-based artists first exhibition in Texas. For En Route, Uttaro
presents two bodies of work: a series of intimate abstractions in oil
pastel and ink on paper, and large-scale, digitally-collaged panoramic
photographs tracing labyrinthine walks. Both the paintings and
photographs emphasize the artists acute sense of the passage of
time--the progressive inertia of the universe, the relativity of
objectivity, an effort to bridge the gap between the time of making
and the time of viewing. Michael Uttaro received an BFA from the
Cooper Union for the Advancement of Art and Science and an MFA from
Brooklyn College, he has shown in galleries in New York, Glasgow,
Scotland, Kyoto, Japan, and Jerome, AZ. This is his first exhibition
in Texas. ex ovo hosts an opening reception with the artist on
