Downtown Dallas is seeing a real and dramatic renaissance in parks and
green space as the decade begins. The opening of our neighbor, Pacific
Plaza, at the end of 2019 has added a wonderful new vitality to our
neighborhood. West End Square broke ground in early January, and there
are still two more downtown parks to come. Join Sarah Hughes of Parks
for Downtown Dallas for a discussion of what has been accomplished and
what is still in process with Carpenter and Harwood Parks. Parks for
Downtown Dallas is a nonprofit foundation with the goal of
establishing these four, new parks in the heart of Downtown Dallas.
They have provided significant funding for the design and construction
of these urban parks and continue to fundraise for a general endowment
to support the long-term health and vibrancy of these exceptional
community assets. We will gather at 11:30 a.m. with our brown bag
lunches and the presentation and subsequent discussion will begin at
noon. RSVP by e-mailing [email protected] ; please include
“Downtown Parks” in the subject line.
