stage, the ever impetuous Berlioz created his “dramatic symphony."
It is an opulent fusion of orchestra, vocal soloists and choral forces
that let his talents as a musical colorist and orchestrator shine.
does not follow Shakespeare’s tragedy exactly, but rather creates a
reimagining of familiar scenes, characters and emotions, with the
passionate love music at its heart. The concert will highlight
mezzo-soprano, Stéphanie D’oustrac; tenor, John Tessier and
bass-baritone, Laurent Naouri. The concert will be conducted by Joshua
Haberman.
