Extension, Extension Agent - Better Living for Texans-McLennan
County Attendees will hear specific strategies that Better Living for
Texans (BLT) Texas A&M Agrilife Extension of McLennan County Agent,
April Strickland, has found successful in building lasting and
productive community partnerships and furthering community engagement.
Research will be shared from a variety of sources examining concepts
such as sectors of influence, social structures and cultural norms and
their intersection with community partnering. Participants will have
an opportunity to complete small group exercises to assess their
current role in acquiring community partners and form individual
action plans to improve outcomes. Learning outcomes for this
professional development focused webinar include learning and applying
evidence-based socioecological models to community-building practices,
how to recognize potential partnerships by specific goals, the power
of partnerships in community organizations, and collective
brainstorming results tailored to each attendee and personalized next
steps. Webinar on March 20 at 2:00 Central A zoom link will be sent
