Part I - EMPOWERING THE BORDERLAND WOMEN SUMMIT_When?- Friday, April
10 (9 AM - 5 PM)__Where?- Tomas Rivera Conference Center__Food will be
provided!__All majors are welcome!_
The goal of this conference is to empower women from all fields of
study. This year’s topic revolves around our border town and how
unique the people and the culture are and how that affects our growth
and inspires us as individuals.
EMPOWERMENT, LEADERSHIP & PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Role models who will share their knowledge and experience through
keynotes, trainings, workshops, and panels with the participants. Our
mission is to revolutionize the conversation of empowering women
towards empowering college students for them to become the future
women leaders we need for this ever-changing world.
Some of the workshops the participants will experience are the
following:
* Career Panels
* Women in Business & Consulting
* Women in Technology
* Personal Branding and Marketing
PART II - SOLVING THE BORDERLAND HACKATHON
This Google-sponsored event is an all-women hackathon to be held at
UTEP on April 25-26, 2020. During the 24 hours of the event, teams
will pick a problem (among a selected few) whose solution has the
potential to positively impact the borderland and work together to
propose a solution to a panel of judges. Prizes will be given to the
first three ranking teams.
In order to participate, you need to register. Registration to this
event is free and needs to be completed before April 20. You can
register as a team or as an individual. If you register as an
individual, you will be assigned a team. If you register as a team,
you will compete with your team.
