A forum to explore how we might utilize business models to overcome
challenges associated with affordable housing and college
homelessness. What is the future of housing? Is it an asset to be
sold at the highest profit margin or is it for shelter? If not then
what other vessels should we look at to generate wealth? With the
cost of living increasing attaining permanent housing is becoming a
difficult goal to achieve. Is it still valid as part of the American
Dream, or has the dream evolved to something else?
As we dive deeper into these questions we aim to see what innovations
we can utilize that will ensure affordability and availability for the
long term and humanize the design of affordable housing. Furthermore,
how do we create solutions for today's college student, especially
those experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty?
Our goal is not just designing new space typologies or using an
innovative means to construct housing, rather it is to set in place a
new set of tool-kits, policies, and frameworks to allow more
organizations to easily develop housing. How might we redesign the way
we develop housing so we may have a more accessible and attainable
housing system?
