 GLASS BLOWING I: PLAYING WITH FIRE ------------------------- Price: $600   |   Duration: 6 sessions : 3 hours per session   |   Class Size: Min 2  - Max 3   |   Ages 14+   |   Prerequisite: None -------------------------   In this six-week beginning course to glass blowing, students will learn the basics of manipulating hot glass. We will build a foundation that focuses on a team approach to glass blowing, with an emphasis on safety, proper tool use, basic techniques, and materials. Students will learn to gather molten glass from the furnace and shape it by using specialized tools, heat, and gravity. Students will create paperweights and basic sculptural forms in solid glass before advancing to blown techniques to create whimsical forms and traditional glass shapes.  By the end of the course students will have a number of small completed works and a solid understanding of basic glass techniques.  Each time you handle this wonderful material, you will gain confidence and skill as your passion for glass grows.
