HERBAL PLANT WALK
Join herbalist and ecotherapy facilitator Madeleine Sophia on
Saturday, February 22nd for a medicinal PLANT WALK ON BUFFALO BAYOU.
Learn about several native healing PLANTS THAT GROW IN ABUNDANCE HERE
IN HOUSTON.
Where: BUFFALO BAYOU. Heights/ Montrose. Meeting location at the
entrance of Johnny Steele Dog Park. At 12:15, we will begin our hike

Cost: $10-20 sliding scale // No one will be turned away for lack of
funds
Come learn about local medicinal PLANTS AND HOW TO BEST PREPARE THEM
AS FOOD AND MEDICINE. We will explore the importance of ethical
harvesting, how to connect with the PLANTS THROUGH OBSERVATION AND
DEEP LISTENING, and the medicinal properties of several herbs that
grow along the BAYOU. There will be a mixture of walking and sitting
so bring water, a notebook & pen, and anything that makes you
comfortable while outdoors. Herbal tea will be provided.

on Saturday, February 22nd for a medicinal plant walk on the Buffalo
Bayou. We will meet at the front of Johnny Steele Dog Park off of
Allen Parkway and at 12:15, leave for our plant walk.
We will explore the medicinal plants that grow in abundance here in
Houston and how to harvest ethically, incorporate herbs into our daily
lives, and how to connect with the healing plants that surround us for
support. We will discuss the medicinal properties of several plants,
learn recipes for making medicine with the plants, and the basics of
wild-crafting.
