PROGRAM:
METRONext: A Plan for the Future
Speaker: METRO Board Chair Carrin Patman
The efficient movement of goods, services and people is critical to a
strong economy. With the greater Houston area region expected to
double its population to 10 million people by 2040, we all should be
concerned about the transportation challenges in our region and work
together to address them. As the region's largest public transit
provider, the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas
(METRO) has been working with the public to develop a new regional
transportation plan. With a bond referendum expected to be on the
November ballot, now is the time to learn more about METRO's Moving
Forward Plan and the transit improvements planned for this area.
