What is Social Entrepreneurship? How is it different? How can I get started?

The Houston Social Entrepreneurship Meetup (HSEM) aims to educate, connect and inspire local changemakers about social ventures and impact investing through monthly startup community events. We usually invite an experienced social entrepreneur to share their story, with time for Q&A and networking before and after their talk.

Organized by Impact Hub Houston, HSEM is a platform for impact-minded entrepreneurs and investors to gather, share ideas, be in good company and support one another. We welcome all aspiring (still employed, unemployed, or in school) OR existing entrepreneurs, as well as anyone who is interested in creating a viable and potentially scalable solution to a pressing issue they or their community face.

The general meetup schedule:
- 5:30pm: Networking
- 6:00pm: Introduction to Social Entrepreneurship
- 6:15pm: Guest Speakers
- 7:00pm: Networking & open discussion on Impact topics
