Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-Plano is hosting the Reality
Education for Drivers—RED—Program for young drivers and their
parents or guardians*. This free one day course focuses on driving
SECURE (wear your seatbelt!), SILENT (free of distractions like cell
phones) and SOBER (no alcohol or drug use while driving).The course
includes class discussions, multimedia presentations, hands on
activities and a “behind the scenes” tour of the hospital’s
trauma center. There is also a special section for parents, guardians,
and other adult influencers in which RED associates share
research-based tools that can be used to help teens become safer
drivers.
All students will receive a Certificate of Completion for community
service hours** at the end of the course. Adults will receive a bag of
“tools” for helping their young driver.

*Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or
guardian.
**The amount of community service hours granted for attending RED is
at the sole discretion of the referral source. Some jurisdictions do
not allow persons attending to count RED at community service.
