Stop the Bleed Basic Course

Stop the BLEED IS A NATIONAL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN AND CALL-to-action. Stop the BLEED IS INTENDED TO CULTIVATE GRASSROOTS EFFORTS THAT ENCOURAGE BYSTANDERS TO BECOME TRAINED, equipped, and empowered to help in a BLEEDING EMERGENCY BEFORE PROFESSIONAL HELP ARRIVES. This class is free to the public.In 90 minutes, participants will learn how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and intervene by applying a tourniquet to an arm or leg, or by packing a wound with gauze or cloth and holding pressure.  These actions by an immediate responder can save a life!  This class is free to the public Class will be held in the Professional Building #5 (Texas Health Resources University) at the southern most tip of the campus.  Parking is free!  Refrigerator and vending machines available.  Bring exact change, please.
