the Rice Oil and Gas High Performance Computing Conference at Rice
University (OG-HPC) is the annual premier meeting place for networking
and discussion focused on computing and information technology
challenges and needs in the oil and gas industry. Attended by 450-500
leaders and experts from the oil and gas industry, academia, national
labs, and IT industry, this is a unique opportunity to engage and
network with key stakeholders. High-end computing and information
technology continues to stand out across the industry as a critical
business enabler and differentiator with a relatively well understood
return on investment. However, challenges such as constantly changing
technology landscape, increasing focus on software and software
innovation, and escalating concerns around workforce development still
remain.
1) WHERE WILL THE CONFERENCE BE LOCATED?
The CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD AT THE RICE UNIVERSITY BIOSCIENCE RESEARCH
COLLABORATIVE BUILDING (BRC).

2) Where can I park?
The BRC parking facilities are comprised of a three-level underground
garage with approximately 325,000 square feet of space and can hold up
to 762 parked vehicles. The rate for the BRC Garage is $1 per 12
minutes, $11 daily maximum.
Parking is not included in the price of registration. The Payment
method is by CASH or CREDIT CARD at the garage entrance.
3) WILL FOOD AND DRINKS BE PROVIDED DURING THE CONFERENCE?
Day 1 – Included in your OG-HPC ticket is afternoon refreshments and
all-access to the the evening reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres,
beer/wine, and non-alcoholic beverages included.
Workshop: If you register to attend any of the Monday Workshops, your
workshop add-on ticket includes breakfast and lunch.
Day 2 – Included in your OG-HPC ticket is breakfast, lunch, and
afternoon refreshments. Your ticket also includes access to the poster
session with beer/wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and hors d’oeuvres
included.
Day 3 (Wednesday Workshops) – If you register to attend either of
the Wednesday Workshops, your workshop add-on ticket includes
breakfast and lunch.
