Tejanos June 12th Monthly Meeting

Welcome TEJANOS (Texans)!Join us! It is Summer Time fun. Time to bbq, vacation, & spend time with family & friends. But our work is not done. We must use these occasions to focus on changes we can locally complete by reminding the people you come in contact with the importance of voting and telling others why you vote Democrat.. We will have 2025 November elections. Although we the Democrats did not gain the Presidency or statewide Harris County did remain BLUE in the last elections. We cannot give up. We are also looking for new recruits to fill vacant precincts. if you are interested in becoming your precinct chair for your area let me know as well. This is a rewarding position to help your neighbors know where to vote and and other election details about candidates and help answer questions. Tejanos has been thrilled to be back in full force in 2024. Early 2024 kept us busy with non stop elections & runoffs. June was Tejano Officer Elections. Jim Davis was elected our new chair. We are thrilled to be led by him this year. We are happy to report several new board members were added. The July Membership Drive & swearing in ceremony of new board for 2024-2025 was truly an awesome & fun event. Judge Natalia Cornelio honored the ceremony. Gracias! Tejano had a voter registration booth at Sylvia Trevinos National Night Out. It was a blast! Tejanos is in CD18 Congressional District 18 missing late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Belinda Castro Vice chair as a precinct chair was able to play a latino leadership role to nominate State Rep 145 Christina Morales as a candidate and let it be known over 50% latinos do live in CD18. Proud she won in so many different ways taking the risks working hard giving it a ?% effort. Tejanos hosted VP Kamala watch party on Aug 22. Oct 4th 24th Roast & Toast 2024 honoring Christina Morales was a sold out event.
