The public is invited to a double book launch on Sunday, 23 March, 11 a.m. at the Parish Hall of the Old Meeting House. Come for a short reading, refreshments, and signed copies of two new collections of poetry by local author Tom Schmidt: Rowing with Either Oar (Solum Literary Press, Nov 2024) and Stranger in Parodies (Kelsay Books, Feb 2025). A multiple award-winning teacher and writer, Tom earned a PhD from Cambridge University and taught humanities for thirty-four years. Among his publications are four books of poetry, two novels, eight books on religion, and a bicentennial history of the Old Meeting House. In addition to writing, Tom is an avid woodworker, chicken tender, sap tapper, baseball fan, and grandfather.
