The catastrophic flood of July 10, 2024 destroyed many residences and made many more uninhabitable. It also took out many bridges and long sections of road. Recovery will take years and millions of dollars, and it is clear that the community has been fundamentally altered by this event. Plainfield resident and Norwich University Professor George Springston will discuss the rainstorm, the flooding, the extensive geomorphic changes to the river corridor, and the impacts to individuals and the community.
