Let's Mob Montpelier's State Street - with cash and community.
Spend what you can. Show our downtown shops and restaurants that they are not alone.
The construction on State Street has hit our downtown businesses hard. The noise, dust, lack of visibility, destroyed sidewalks, and removal of convenient parking have taken a tremendous toll. And in fact, one business has already announced their closure.
On Saturday, May 17th we are organizing a day-long "Cash Mob", where we will show up with cash in our pockets, community in our hearts, and our reusable totes to shop the South side of State Street with intention and purpose.
We know one or two days of spending will not fix all the problems being faced, but it will give a morale boost to our downtown friends who are struggling, and spread awareness of how important a healthy and thriving downtown is for our entire community.
Whether you can spend $5 or $50, we invite you to help these businesses stay afloat during a critical time.
