---Instructor: Frank Shutts---This course is designed for those new to acting and those who want to rediscover the basic roots of the acting process. Beginning with a brief introduction to play reading and script analysis, each student will learn how to build a character from what is given (the script) and from a creative and mature imagination as well. Basic stage and acting terminology will be taught; numerous acting techniques explored; and sensory and emotional recall will provide the tools needed to end the class with at least one fully developed monologue to take to auditions. Pandemic note: Although only fully vaccinated students may register for the class, as of August 1, 2020, masks will still be required for most class activities.
