Movement for the Actor - Alexandria, VA 2025

---Instructor: Ty Edwards--- In this course, we will develop and refine movement skills for stage performance. Students will develop methods of artistic expression using their whole body through a study of various approaches, such as Viewpoints, Animal Work, Neutral Mask, Clown, Mime, and Laban Techniques. Through movement, we will discover new connections to speech and text and improve the condition, flexibility, and responsiveness of their physical instrument. Students also develop the means for making effective physical choices in the creation of a performance. *IMPORTANT: While the instructor will do his best to adapt and serve all levels of ability in this class, it would be a good idea to consult a medical provider before enrolling in this class. Folks with healthy functional mobility are highly encouraged to enroll.
