Technical Theatre Camp – Week 1 Open to students in grades 5–10 who are interested in backstage and technical theatre roles. June 5-10 Mon.–Fri: 9:00 AM–4:00 PM Showcases: Fri. at 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM Camp Overview Technical Theatre Camp – Week 1 is designed for students who are curious about the behind-the-scenes magic that brings a theatrical production to life. Participants will gain hands-on experience supporting live performances while learning essential technical theatre skills in a collaborative, real-world setting. This camp places students directly into active production environments, allowing them to learn by doing while working alongside experienced staff and stage management. Participants will engage in key technical roles supporting two simultaneous production camps, including: -Assisting with week one of Something Rotten JR. (Musical Theatre Intensive) -Assisting with the DMR Demon Hunter Adventure Camp -Supporting the technical needs of both productions -Making, gathering, and organizing props -Assisting with costume fittings and assignments -Helping create and manage set pieces -Operating sound and lighting systems -Working alongside the stage management team to ensure smooth rehearsals and performances Students in Technical Theatre Camp Week 1 will help support the following performance: Friday, June 5 DMR Demon Hunter Adventure — Performances at 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM *Students who wish to see the first MainStage summer production (Something Rotten JR.) through to full performances should also register for Technical Theatre Camp – Week 2, which continues work on that production.
