Enjoy the Science Center with extended hours of operation every third Thursday of the month. Discover the mysteries of the universe and tour the night sky while enjoying the astronomy feature in our digital dome followed by an educator led journey in a planetarium show. This month we will feature the film Asteroid: Mission Extreme, and afterwards focus on Cassini’s final mission. Tour the solar system on our Science on a Sphere, while engaging in hands-on Explore Science: Earth & Space activities, provided by the National Informal STEM Education (NISE) Network. Construct star charts to take home and use as a tool to help navigate the night skies. After dark peer through our telescopes at planets and other celestial objects, weather permitting.
This month Team 5950, Tunstall High School’s Robotics Team, will be demonstrating the capabilities of one of their robots used in competition. Observe firsthand the results STEM education at work in one of our local high schools. This event is brought to you in partnership with the Institute for Advance Learning and Research.
