The ORIENTATION TO THE PRODUCTION STUDIO will take 45 minutes to 1
hour. During the session we discuss policies and procedures as well as
familiarize you with the available equipment. This session also allows
us time to get to know you and your projects. We provide this
ORIENTATION TO ALL OUR PATRONS PLANNING TO USE THE STUDIO REGARDLESS
OF THEIR SKILL LEVEL OR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD. After the
ORIENTATION, you may reserve the STUDIO FOR UP TO 3 HOURS AT A TIME.
Concepts
This orientation reviews basic procedures and safety considerations
for operating our digital video camera, studio lighting, teleprompter,
and selecting backdrops.
Prerequisites
Attendees must be familiar with Apple Macintosh computers and posess
ability to use a keyboard and mouse. Basic knowledge and skills in
digital photography and/or video production required. Basic experience
performing pre- and post-production work in a studio environment
strongly encouraged.

We welcome adults and teens 15 and up with a valid NPL card
WHAT DO I BRING TO THE EVENT?
Have your Norfolk Public Library card available to register you into
the Production Studio access list. Attendees must have a current NPL
card in good standing to access the computers and resources in the
Slover Creative STUDIOS. Attendees who are not yet NPL patrons may
obtain their free card at the Circulation Desk or Concierge Desk on

WHERE IS THE EVENT LOCATED IN THE SLOVER LIBRARY?
From the library main entrance, take the central elevator bank up to
the 4th floor. Walk past the Information Desk and check in Design
Studio suite 455.
