This is a free lecture and is open to the public. The lectures are
geared towards researchers, clinicians, students and hospital staff.
A light lunch will be served.
DR. ROLANDO BARRIOS is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the School
of Population and Public Health and a Clinical Associate for the
Department of Family and Community Medicine. In 2005, Dr. Barrios
joined the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS (BC-CfE) as Assistant
Director, and is also the Principal Investigator of the
Pharmacovigilance Program and Co-Chair of the Committee for Drug
Evaluation and Therapy at the BC-CfE. In this capacity, he leads
important programs in the areas of patient safety, pharmacovigilance
and continuous quality improvement. As of July 2017, Dr. Barrios is
also the Acting Director of Epidemiology and Population Health at the
BC-CfE. In addition to his work at the BC-CfE, Dr. Barrios is the
Senior Medical Director of Vancouver Coastal Health (Community Health
Services), where he is leading key health system redesign initiatives
aimed at creating efficiencies and better aligning resources to
population needs.
DR. COLE STANLEY is Medical Lead for Continuous Quality Improvement
for Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) Community. He is a family physician
at both Raven Song Community Health Centre (VCH) and the John Ruedy
Clinic (IDC) at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver. His practice
includes general family medicine, HIV primary care, hepatitis C
treatment, and addictions care. Dr. Stanley has also completed
additional training in Quality Improvement for his QI role at VCH and
his work on the BOOST Collaborative.
