Domestic Violence Awareness Training for Mediators

This 24-hour training is designed for mediators, arbitrators and other dispute resolution professionals who handle cases involving a history of domestic violence. We will be covering topics that relate to preparation & intake, caucus (private meetings with parties), what to watch out for during negotiations, and terminating safely, along with invaluable information on the particular challenges and characteristics of relationships involving abuse. Training will include mock mediations.Presenters include: * District & Superior Court Justices (Kitsap County) * Family Law Counsel * Children’s Advocates * Law Enforcement * Domestic Violence Legal Advocates * Offender & Survivor Counselors * Survivor Advocates * Experienced Family & Domestic Violence Mediators This event will be located at the YWCA offices in Bremerton.
