0900 JBLM Roman Catholic Mass at Main Post Chapel

- The Eucharist will only be placed on the hand of the recipient, not the tongue. It is not a mortal sin or a desecration to receive the Eucharist in the hand. The bishop does have the authority to give and enforce this guidance. This measure is for the health and protection of all the faithful and not an attack on anyones personal piety. This is a temporary healthy protection measure during this pandemic. We are very familiar of the various websites and opinions that hold contrary views to this authoritative protective measure. Please do not post these on our site or email the priests, deacons, or chapel staff.

- The faithful receiving the Eucharist wearing mask must wear a mask until receiving the Body of Christ. Once the recipient approaches the celebrant to receive, the recipient removes the mask and consumes the Body of Christ immediately. The mask is then placed in the proper health protection position.

- Masks must be worn during the mass if NOT vaccinated. The celebrant is to wear a mask when not speaking and while distributing the Body of Christ to the faithful if not vaccinated.

- Indoor masses are limited to 100-150 people. The number has increased due to the decrease of COVID 19 cases in the area.

- Everyone will enter through the sanctuary's double doors just above the stairs and check in before going into the main sanctuary. Once mass is done, everyone will immediately exit via the same doors. For the McChord Field service, we will also only be using one entrance/exit.

-We are only having 3 services, and all on Sunday. These are 0900 and Noon at main post chapel and 1030 at McChord Field Chapel Life Center. Please only sign up for one mass per day. The links will be posted every Sunday at 1700 on our Facebook page, and close every Friday at 1700.

- Catholic mass, along with all the religious services on JBLM, are the Commanders program which are led by Chaplains. It is our obligation to follow the measures of the Commander as a military community. The Commander and senior leaders have placed great trust in us to do the right thing and celebrate our Catholic faith responsibly while following health guidelines and measures from both secular and religious authorities. Let us hold our commanders, bishops, and each other in prayer and dutifully obey our leaders guidance.
