TACOMA Mayor Victoria Woodards will host City of TACOMA's 2020 STATE
OF THE CITY ADDRESS ON WEDNESDAY, March 4, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. in the
auditorium of Mt. Tahoma High School, located at 4634 South 74th
Street. During the free community event, Mayor Woodards will speak on
the theme “Our FUTURE IN FOCUS”. Event doors open at 5:30 p.m.,
and the event will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.Those interested in
attending the event must register. Due to space limitations, seats are
available on a first-come, first-served basis.
“This is a unique opportunity to reflect on the work done throughout
2019 to meet today’s needs while keeping Tacoma’s future in
focus,” stated Mayor Victoria Woodards. “Once a year, we gather to
share the challenges and opportunities before our dynamic city.
Because we each have a role to play as we lay the foundation for the
Tacoma of tomorrow, I hope you will join me.”

Dull and Chair of the Mayor's Youth Commission of Tacoma Rosemary
Sissel will serve as co-masters of ceremonies. The event will open
with music from the Choir from the Congregational Christian Church of
American Samoa – Fort Lewis, Washington pastored by Reverend Suipi
Vaielue and the Girl Scouts of Western Washington Color Guard. A song
will be offered by the Puyallup Tribal Language Program, and the
poetry of Christian Paige will be featured during the event.
PARKING
Ample free parking is available in the parking lots surrounding the
school and athletic stadium.
