About the Workshop: To help you in your journey to effectively manage
your condition and delay complications related to diabetes we are
offering the Living Well with Diabetes workshop! This workshop helps
individuals with diabetes and pre-diabetes learn how to better manage
their chronic condition. The workshop focuses on challenges that are
common to those living with diabetes, such as blood sugar monitoring,
preventing hypo- and hyperglycemia, nutrition, exercise, medication
use, as well as effective methods for communicating with doctors and
other members of their care team. Participants get the opportunity to
improve their self-management skills through action-planning,
decision-making, and problems-solving scenarios while also
strengthening communities and support systems. FAQs Who can
attend this workshop? This workshop is open to anyone with
pre-diabetes, type 1, type 2 diabetes, and
caregivers/family/friends. How many sessions are in the workshop?
One session per week for six weeks. How long is each session of the
workshop? Each session is 2.5 hours long. Is transportation
provided for the workshop? No. This event does not provide
transportation for participants. Is there free parking for the
workshop? Yes. What can I bring to the event? Free snacks, water,
and writing materials are provided at the workshop. If you prefer to
use a notebook to take notes, we recommend bringing one from home.
