The route is probably 9–14 miles round trip and about 2500–3000ft
of elevation gain. https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/skyline-divide
[https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/skyline-divide]We will meet at
ASH WAY P&R (take exit 183 for 164th St SW). Everyone needs to be
there at ASH WAY P&R at 7:00 AM.
Carpooling. Many hikers are choosing not to carpool because of
Covid-19. If you do carpool, wear face mask. Consider limiting 2
persons per car, but that’s up to you to decide. For carpool to the
Mount Baker Area, share costs ($15–20 is normal).
Route to trailhead: Take I-5 to to exit 232 for Cook Rd toward
Sedro-Woolley. Take care not to miss the left turn onto WA-9 N/N
Township St.
We will get coffee at the Cook Road exit (Starbucks, 9660 Old Hwy 99
North Rd C, Burlington, WA 98233).
There is a toilet at the trailhead, however, a stop with running water
is at the Glacier Public Service Center, (10091 Mt Baker Hwy, Deming,
WA 98244) on the right just after the town of Glacier and just before
our turn off onto Glacier Creek Road and NF-37.
Pre-Covid-19 we normally stopped for food after the hike. If you want
to stop for food after the hike, pizza at the North Fork Brewery (6186
Mt Baker Hwy, Deming, WA 98244,[masked],
https://www.northforkbrewery.com/ [https://www.northforkbrewery.com/])
is one of the better options.
