DescriptionThe Swimming Merit Badge Clinic is a 4- hour clinic which
allows for Scouts to begin (and perhaps complete) the Eagle-required
Swimming Merit Badge. The Clinic is run by American Red Cross certified
Water Safety Instructors, all familiar with the Scout Aquatics
Program, most of whom are Eagle Scouts or are on their way to becoming
Eagle. A Merit Badge Counselor working for the City of Covington will
supervise the clinic and collect all Blue Cards at the beginning of
the Clinic. Scouts must bring a spare set of clothes, as they will be
getting the ones wet which they are wearing when they arrive to the
clinic. They should arrive wearing shoes, socks, swim trunks, long
pants, a belt, and a long-sleeved shirt. Scouts must bring a Blue Card
signed by their Scoutmaster. Scouts can bring a Swimming Merit Badge
Pamphlet (Book); however, it is optional. Scouts will be provided with
a Swimming Merit Badge Workbook. If you have not completed First
Class, you will not be able to finish the Merit Badge until you have
completed the Swimming Requirements for both First and Second Class.
We will work with you individually to complete these requirements at
the beginning of the clinics as to have these completed.
