In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, our Sunday Worship
Service is referred to as Sacrament meeting, and is a key part of our
weekly worship experience. This meeting is held in the chapel and
lasts an hour. During the service we take the sacrament, sing hymns,
and listen to messages focused on our Savior Jesus Christ given by
members of the congregation. During the sacrament, bread and water is
blessed by authorized priesthood holders. The congregation is then
given the opportunity to eat the bread and drink the water in
remembrance of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and as a sign of their
renewal of personal covenants made with God.
