HCA/HOME CARE AIDE CLASS SCHEDULE:Home Care Aide Classes by Visiting Angels. Looking to work as a CAREGIVER IN A LONG TERM CARE SETTING IN WASHINGTON STATE? You will need to obtain an approved certification. We offer HCA classes with an experienced, high-quality instructor. HCA CLASS IS A TOTAL OF 75 HOURS, which consists of 5 in-person classes (25 hours) +plus 50 hours of on-line self study. All classes must be completed in order to receive a certificate of completion. You must have a certification of completion in order to register for the State certification exam (administered by Prometric [https://www.prometric.com/test-takers/search/wadoh/washington-state-department-health-1]). Our Tacoma classroom is a Regional Test Site Location, so you have the added benefit of being able to train in the same location that you will take your certification test in. HCA CLASS INCLUDES DEMENTIA LEVEL 1 AND MENTAL HEALTH LEVEL 1. HCA CLASS SCHEDULE: FRIDAY, MAY 22 / 9 AM-11 AM / ORIENTATION FRIDAY, MAY 29 / 9 AM- 5 PM / DEMENTIA LEVEL 1* FRIDAY, JUNE 5 / 9 AM-5 PM / MENTAL HEALTH LEVEL 1* FRIDAY, JUNE 12 / 9 AM-5 PM / SKILLS FRIDAY, JUNE 19 / 9 AM-5 PM / SKILLS + 43 HOURS ON-LINE TRAINING, TOTAL OF 75 HOURS We offer a work to train program to help our CAREGIVERS OFFSET THE COST OF THIS TRAINING. COST: $450 + $222 FOR WADOH APPLICATION & WA STATE TEST Fee includes class instruction and state HCA certification application and test fee. Additional personalized coaching with instructor may be purchased. This may be helpful to someone who has test anxiety or failed a previous attempt at the test. VISITING ANGELS "WORK TO TRAIN" PROGRAM enables employees of Visiting Angels to offset the cost of training by offering an interest-free loan for the HCA training, payable over 12 months. The cost of the class is then reimbursed when the employee competes 12 months of work as an employee at Visiting Angels (must work a minimum of 1000 hours over 12 months). *DEMENTIA AND MENTAL HEALTH MAY BE TAKEN INDIVIDUALLY WITHOUT TAKING ENTIRE HCA CLASS. PARTICIPANTS EARN 8 CEUS FOR BOTH MENTAL HEALTH & DEMENTIA.
