Bernie’s is surging and the ruling elite are sounding the alarm and
going on the offensive. After panning Bernie for most of the
primaries, the corporate media, in service to the billionaire class,
are testing out different attack lines, from Sanders being sexist,
too far-left, unelectable, and “It’ll be electoral carnage,”
warned a Democratic Party operative on the impact of a Sanders
nomination on the Democratic Party majority in the US House of
Representatives. Obama has made pointed remarks and has threatened to
publicly join the fight against Bernie, if he’s the nominee. What
will it take to overcome the attacks by the corporate media, ruling
elite, and the pro-big business wing of the Democratic Party? What
does this say about the Democratic Party establishment? What lessons
can we learn from Jeremy Corbyn’s defeat? What can DSA and
progressive working people and youth do to elect the first Socialist
president?
