Co-presented with The Pike Place Podcast. Join Folio and The Pike
Place Podcast as we welcome Northwest Legend and Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame Member Pat O’Day for an evening of Wild Stories and Tall Tales
about the making of the Seattle Rock Scene. Pat O’Day literally
“talked” his way into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a disc
jockey on “KJR SEATTLE, CHANNEL 95”. Pat was a trailblazer in Top
40 radio, named National Radio Man of the Year in 1966. Along with his
on-air presence , O’Day’s teen dance business was staging 50+
dances a week at Parker’s Ballroom, Lake Hills Roller Rink and the
legendary Spanish Castle among others in the greater Seattle/Tacoma
area. In 1962 he promoted the “World’s Fair Rock and Roll
Spectacular” and The Beatles shows in 1964 and 1966, changing the
name of his dance promotion company to Concerts West. His first client
was a Seattle kid named Jimi Hendrix and the rest as they say is
history! Elvis, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, The Stones, Led Zeppelin,
Creedence, the Mafia, The Edgewater Hotel and a lot more all in one
conversation with a Seattle treasure MR. PAT O’DAY! Complimentary
reception to follow.
