12 Minutes Max Bellingham is a recurring performance showcase
designed to feature new and experimental works by local artists.
Format: Artists present original works that are each 12 minutes or
less in length. The event is open to a variety of performance genres,
including dance, theater, performance art, spoken word, and more.
Purpose: The showcase provides a platform for artists to debut
works-in-progress and experimental pieces, giving audiences a first
look at new creative projects. Origins: The 12 Minutes Max format was
originally developed by On the Boards in Seattle in 1981 and has since
inspired similar events in other cities, including Bellingham.
