DADDY 101 IS A "crash course" that captures the unique experience that
fatherhood brings. Men will be inspired and equipped for their
transition into fatherhood. In this class, Dads will learn the basic
skills they need to navigate through their child’s early stages. We
will discuss everything from diapering, sleep schedules, and learn how
to keep this new kid clean in the bath. We invite all dads to come and
join in on the fun! _THIS CLASS IS DESIGNED FOR MEN ONLY- thank you
for respecting the design of our program._ -------------------------
FAQS
_WHERE EXACTLY IS THIS CLASS LOCATED AT DEACONESS?_ The
_Deaconess Maternity Center _is separate from the main part of
DEACONESS AND NOT THE DHEC BUILDING WHERE YOU MAY GO FOR APPOINTMENTS.
This is where you'll go to have your baby. It is on the corner of 5th
and Wall and is a 3-story building. Take the _Maternity Center_
elevator to the 2nd floor. The elevator signs say "Childbirth and
Newborn Education- floor 2." Then hang a left down the hall. The
classroom is on your right.
_WHERE DO I PARK FOR CLASS? _ You may park in the parking
garage located below the Maternity Center on the corner of 5th and
Wall for $3 or on the street (sometimes parking is free on the
weekends.) Again, this is NOT where you park for prenatal
appointments. You can enter the _parking garage driveway off of 5th
avenue_. There is a black sign with an arrow to look for on 5th
Avenue. There is often free parking around Lewis and Clark High
school in the bus zone after hours.

Bryan graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Washington
State University College of Nursing in conjunction with Eastern
Washington University in 2009. He began his nursing career in the
Adult Intensive Care Unit at Deaconess Hospital and then transferred
to the Pediatric Unit upon its re-launch in 2011. When the Pediatric
Unit closed its doors in 2014, Bryan transferred to the Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit. Bryan is excited to broaden his baby skills, and
is toying with the idea of going back to school to get his Doctorate
in Primary Pediatric Care. Prior to obtaining his nursing license,
Bryan was a Resident Volunteer Firefighter, an ER Tech and a
Lifeguard. Bryan has been married for over 7 years and shares his
nursing passion with his wife who is also a Neonatal Intensive Care
Nurse. Together, they have 3 children- two boys and a girl. Bryan is
excited to be able to take a combination of his skills as a nurse and
his skills as a dad and put them together to create “Daddy 101”
for first time Dads!
