WHAT IS MINECRAFT MAKER CAMP? MINECRAFT MAKER CAMP HARNESSES THE POWER
OF MINECRAFT TO TACKLE REAL WORLD PROBLEMS, bringing together the
physical and digital worlds in a meaningful way. Led by an experienced
local educator, campers will be presented with daily challenges—and
then given the tools and direction they need to create solutions in
their MINECRAFT BUILDS.Campers will visit the exhibits at the
Washington State History Museum to learn about specific topics. Then,
they will come back to their laptops to implement their learnings into
their Minecraft builds. Campers will spend the week exploring the
digital and physical worlds, learning essential 21st century skills,
and engaging with their peers. At the end of the week, campers will
take home the worlds they have created—allowing them to continue
their exploration and creation.
WHO CAN ATTEND MINECRAFT MAKER CAMP? All students entering 3rd-6th
grade in Fall 2020.
IS PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH MINECRAFT REQUIRED? No! Minecraft Maker
Camp content has been developed to be both accessible and challenging
to campers with varying levels of Minecraft experience.
WHEN IS IT? Monday, July13th-Friday, July 17th. Camp runs from
9:00am-2:00pm daily.
WHERE IS IT? The Washington State History Museum—1911 Pacific
Avenue, Tacoma, WA 98402
HOW MUCH DOES MINECRAFT MAKER CAMP COST? Camp registration is
$450/camper for the full week of camp or $100/camper per day.
DO CAMPERS NEED TO BRING THEIR OWN DEVICE? Yes! Campers must bring a
laptop, charger, and mouse. If your camper does not have a device,
please email Hannah West (hwest@i2e-LLC.com) to inquire about renting
a device for the week before you register.
DO CAMPERS NEED TO HAVE MINECRAFT INSTALLED ON THEIR DEVICE? Yes, but
we will provide an installation link prior to the start of camp.
