"In the Kitchen": Cast Iron Cooking

Explore the world of cast iron cooking with Joey, the Four Winds farmer for the future and former chef. In this hands-on workshop, Joey will demystify the use of cast iron cookware, covering everything from classic breakfast staples to savory roasts and stir-fries. Learn essential techniques, including seasoning, cleaning, and storage, and Joey's tips to shop for these timeless kitchen tools. 

Experience the rich history of cooking with cast iron and its versatility in achieving perfect sears and sautés. This workshop, suitable for all ages, includes hands-on activities and demonstrations. Join Joey, his son Lucero, and his father Bill for a multi-generational cooking experience. 

Indulge in buttery-seared steaks, master the art of waffle-making, and savor a pot roast with baby potatoes, carrots, garlic, herbs, and red wine. Explore a versatile vegetable sauté perfect for various dishes. Additional recipes will be shared, and there'll be unique cast iron pieces on display. Joey believes in teaching everyone the joy of cooking, making this a family-friendly workshop not to be missed.

Guests may arrive 15 minutes early to purchase a beverage and settle in. Class will begin at 6:00pm.No outside food or beverages are allowed at any Four Winds Farm class. All sales final, we do not issue refunds. If you can't make your booking, we must be notified 24 hours in advance to issue class credit.
