As part of its “Business Basics” series of classes for new
entrepreneurs, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the
University of Wisconsin-La Crosse will hold “The First Steps to
Starting Your Business” on the UWL campus.Many businesses start as a
hobbies or personal interests. This class is for individuals who are
looking for practical information to determine if they are ready to be
an entrepreneur and the essentials for launching a business.
Participants learn about the initial steps to starting a business,
formulate a plan to move forward, and learn where to seek out
excellent new resources. After class, attendees may request free,
one-on-one assistance from the Small Business Development Center to
refine their idea and prepare a business plan with financial
forecasting.
The fee for the class is $30 and pre-registration is required. All
materials are provided. Due to limited seating, early registration is
recommended. Registration deadline is Wednesday, June 21, 2017.
Other classes in the “Business Basics” series include “Financial
Basics,” “Marketing Basics,” “Website Basics,” “Business
Model Canvas,” and “Planning Basics.” Participants are welcome
to attend the individual classes or can register for the entire
