Our cooking competitions are a huge hit. Where else do you get to be
the judge of a cooking competition?! The food is excellent and the
atmosphere fun. We are excited to offer another chef SHOWDOWN!
We have often described the delecTable experience as watching a
cooking show where you get to eat the food. We’re taking that
concept to the next level again, with an even more fun -- and what’s
sure to be delicious -- cooking competition! If you missed our last
SHOWDOWN, here's your chance. Our EXECUTIVE CHEF NICK JOHNSON will
take on our FORMER EXECUTIVE CHEF DREW NIEDERCORN, to see who can
create the most outstanding food for you! Each course will feature a
different _VOM_FASS ingredient. You will judge each course based on
presentation, taste, and how well the _VOM_FASS ingredient is
highlighted.
There will be four courses. Therefore, you’ll be served eight dishes
to judge. Each chef will prepare their own dishes for each course,
which will be kept secret to keep the other in the dark. As always,
each chef will happily accommodate any dietary restrictions. And as
always, each course will be paired with wine or spirits. The course
structure will be:
FIRST COURSE
APPETIZER
_VOM_FASS _BLACK CUMIN OIL_
__Derived from the small seeds of black cumin, this oil has a savory,
bitter taste and a high amount of essential oils. Mixed with other
oils it is a great addition to salads or for seasoning for Asian
dishes. With its unique taste profile, we’re very interested to see
what our chefs come up with!
SECOND COURSE
SALAD
_VOM_FASS _WILLIAMS CHRIST PEAR BALSAMIC VINEGAR_
The pears used to make this vinegar originate from the orchard meadows
in the region of Upper Swabia, and possess an enormous spectrum of
aromas and a refreshing flavor. This balsamic vinegar has a unique and
delightful taste, with a strong enough flavor for the chefs to easily
feature it in their dish.
THIRD COURSE
PROTEIN
_VOM_FASS _ROSEMARY EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL_
__The rich, resiny aroma of this oil will transport you to the
Mediterranean. It offers a bright, distinctive flavor, thanks to the
slow extraction of dried rosemary. This oil is delightful with pork,
lamb, and potato and pasta dishes, so our chefs have lots of room for
creativity.
FOURTH COURSE
DESSERT
_VOM_FASS _Nut Chocolate Liqueur_
__This is a wonderful liqueur composed of a hazelnut distillate
infused with delicate chocolate flavor. Luxurious and aromatic, it is
an excellent complement to coffee or espresso and is thoroughly
enchanting in desserts. It will be a treat to see what our chefs do
with the deliciousness of this liqueur!

person.

The $25 you see on Eventbrite is the deposit only. Remaining payment
