LISC- Milwaukee welcomes Helen Leung from LA-Más
[https://www.mas.la/project-selection-small-business] to present the
work that they are doing to engage small business owners in art and
design projects. Their small business development program is focused
on supporting immigrant-owned mom-and-pop businesses by providing
technical assistance to improve their business operations and
designing storefront make-overs that reflect the unique identify of
each business, celebrate local culture, and create a sense of
place. This interactive workshop is DESIGNED FOR ARTISTS, DESIGNERS,
AND CREATIVES with an interest in working with small business owners.
Helen will share examples of business outreach activities, and
facilitate dialogue amongst attendees to learn from one another's
experience.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about
LISC-Milwaukee's Brew City Match program, and how they can engage in
working more closely with business owners along Historic King Drive,
North Avenue/Fond du Lac, and the Cesar Chavez Drive Commercial
Corridors.
Lunch will be provided.
