Across various art movements, including modern ones like surrealism and conceptual art, meaning is a fundamental element. It can take many forms, from metaphorical to objective, non-objective to subjective, and can be deep or shallow, but it always plays a role in self-expression. In this class, explore examples of meaning in art history, along with techniques such as pointillism, color theory, shape, blending, and texture. Take this opportunity to express something personally meaningful through your artwork. Basic painting supplies are provided, but students are welcome to bring art materials of their choice. Teenagers, age 14 and older, may take most adult classes; some require teacher’s consent.
Online registration closes three business days before class begins. You may also call 262-636-9177 to check for class availability, and to register, Mondays through Saturdays, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Classes are held at RAM’s Wustum Museum, 2519 Northwestern Avenue, Racine.
