Calling all small business women! Whether you are a freelancer, sole
proprietor or have a registered company, our small business tax
workshop will help you show up like the CEO you! Just Hello presents
workshops for women. Who is this workshop for? As a small business
owner, you have to be able to manage your taxes – it’s a vital
part of business. Planning for your upcoming tax-bill is just as
important to budget for, as any other part of your business. Taxes
should not be a surprise, and penalties can really derail your
business plans! So if you are a freelancer, sole proprietor or a
director of a registered company, this workshop is for you. We
concentrate more on businesses with turnover below R1 million, so
non-VAT registered businesses – though if you have a large business
and want to understand the basics, this workshop is for you. If you
have started a new business, and have no idea what will be involved,
you will definitely find this workshop valuable! What do we cover in
this workshop? From the moment you decide to run a business, register
a company or send your first invoice, you have a responsibility to
yourself, or at least to SARS, to take responsibility for your
business management and taxes. We will discuss the difference between
sole proprietors, freelancers and registered companies, as well as the
benefits and downfalls to each. What records are you supposed to keep
for each of these, what your legal responsibilities are, and also what
you can claim and how to keep these records correctly. How to manage
your books, which programs to use and even provide spreadsheets for
smaller, simpler accounts. When it comes to taxes, we discussed the
deductions you are entitled to, what you need to ensure its allowed,
and also unpack the complicated world of provisional tax. We also
chat about Vat registration. About the presenter Nicole
