Join us as we explore the newly reopened Beachcomber Cove track at Cape Hillsborough National Park!
We will be taking the one-way route which is 2.2km long and takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete. We recommend the track for those with moderate fitness as it is a grade 3 hike.
About the walk
Our first Beautiful Walk of the year will take us along the picturesque coastline of the Cape Hillsborough National Park and around the volcanic Division Rock formations. The tracks winds into the coastal headlands covered in hoop pines and ferns, and upwards through cool, remnant rainforest. Butterflies are popular in this area and birdlife such as drongos and kookaburras sing to each other.
At the top of the walk, we can have a chance to sit down and enjoy the scenic views of the cove and surrounding islands. The track then descends into open eucalypt forest, with grass trees and skinks rustling in the leaf litter.
This part of the track is moderately steep, so caution is advised for those with unsure footing.
