Bringing the Banks to Book: A Forum on the Royal Commission Fallout

The Royal Commission has revealed a pervasive culture of greed and customer abuse in the Australian financial services sector and exposed some of Australia’s biggest banks to potential criminal prosecution.

Commissioner Kenneth Hayne’s damning report will trigger big changes in the financial sector including tougher regulation and better compensation for victims. But do the recommendations go far enough? Will they deliver real change?

Join us for lunch and a panel discussion with three leading experts:

  • Professor Allan Fels AO is an economist and lawyer and was the first chairman of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
  • Adele Ferguson AM is a multi-award-winning investigative journalist and business columnist whose reporting over several years helped trigger the Royal Commission.
  • Ian Ramsay is Professor of Commercial Law at Melbourne University, was head of the Federal Government inquiry on auditor independence and chaired the independent panel that reviewed the financial system’s external dispute resolution and complaints framework

Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
